Dmitrii Shchukin

Dmitrii Shchukin—a composer, flutist, and sound researcher from Düsseldorf, Germany.

The search for hypersemiotic compositional structures and their adaptation to a pre-coded/pre-composed landscape has become a key focus of his extensive research in recent months. Once inspired by the idea of interpreting digital polyrhythms, his main focus became mostly mixed art and research in this field. Starting his journey as a post-spectral composer, he developed his style by integrating the algorithmic approach of composition into a romantic idea. For this purpose, as part of his position as a Robert Schumann Hochschule tutor, he created a laboratory and ensemble of experimental electronic music called NetSound Collective, exploring interaction and integration, as well as the search for new syntactic systems. Issues of multi-channel spatial composition also occupy a place in his work.
